The collection contains sixteen images in various sizes, including cartes-de-visite, cabinet cards, tintypes, and a large
albumen print. It exemplifies the extent to which early photography was used for family portraiture.
Biography
The photographs document the extended family of Annis Ketcheson (1811-1901) and her husband David T. Reed (1807-1902).
Arrangement
Photographs are grouped according to family branch affiliation. The Reed, Reed-Fairman, and Reed-Ketcheson family photographs
are in the first folder, Reed-Barnum and Reed-Brenton in the second, and the large group portrait is in the third.
Acquisition Information
The photographs were donated by Helen Freeland and accessioned into the permanent collection in 1992.
