Scope and Content

The Educational Broadcasting Collection consists of catalogues, trade magazines, pamphlets, educational materials, manuscripts, and ephemera that serves as an overview of the broadcasting industry during the golden age of radio. The bulk of these materials range in date from 1933-1946. These materials mostly pertain to broadcasting and recording as well as motion picture projectors of the era. Included in this collection are manuals and trade catalogues for many different recording and playback devices, as well as promotional materials and broadcasting guidelines for the industry. Efforts from many notable corporations that can be found in the collection are RCA-Victor, the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), and more.
