Description
Arthur Schneider was a motion picture and television video editor whose credits include
Bob Hope Comedy Specials,
Laugh-In,
Sonny & Cher and
The New Mickey Mouse Club. The collection consists of script and production material related to his work on television programs, specials and television
movies. The bulk of the collection is primarily materials from Walt Disneys
New Mickey Mouse Club (1976).
Background
After graduating from USC, Arthur Schneider began his editing career at NBC in 1951 where he continued to work for 17 plus
years. His credits as an editor include many televsion programs, specials, and television movies such as
Bob Hope Comedy Specials,
Laugh-In,
Sonny & Cher and
The New Mickey Mouse Club, to name just a few. He was the recipient of 4 Emmy awards and was presented the American Cinema Editors "Eddie" award for
Career Achievement in 1999. In addition to his work as an editor, Schneider authored several publications on editing and lectured
on videotape editing at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.
