Henry J. Hastings was born on January 26, 1931 in Littleton, Colorado. He attended the University of Southern California where
he graduated with a degree in architecture. Upon graduating he practiced architecture in Los Angeles. In 1964, Hastings relocated
to Santa Barbara where he continued to design and remodel primarily commercial buildings. Henry J. Hastings died in 1979,
at the age of 48.
The Henry J. Hastings papers span 19 linear feet and date circa 1950 to circa 1979. The collection primarily consists of architectural
drawings and reprographic copies of commercial buildings, but also contains building supply pamphlets, catalogs for interior
furnishings, and letters.
