Biography/Administrative History

The Mexico and Colorado Railroad Company, [ran] 34.73 miles from Douglas Junction north to Courtland, Arizona. This line was incorporated on December 22, 1908, opened June 20, 1909, and operated by the El Paso and Southwestern Railroad as part of its Western Division, lines west of El Paso. The company had no locomotives of its own, was sold to the EP&SW on March, 1, 1909, and was dissolved on September 2, 1910. The trackage was abandoned by the Southern Pacific in 1933.
