    Biography

    Edgar G. Ulmer was an Austrian-born director active in film from 1929 to 1965. He arrived in the United States in 1923, and worked in both the U.S. and Germany throughout the 1920s before settling in Hollywood in 1930.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Edgar G. Ulmer papers span the years circa 1930s-2007 and encompass 8.3 linear feet and 18 posters. The collection consists of scripts, biographical and credit data, clippings and reviews, contracts, correspondence, books, periodicals, and photographs. The material was largely collected and compiled by Arianne Ulmer Cipes to document the work of her father.
