Abstract: This collection comprises of a typed manuscript entitled "Lo and Behold" possibly written by John Dominus. It appears to have been written in 1933 and refers to ceremonial dances and religious ceremonies of Luiseños and Cupeño Indians, such as the Shrohobit and Sand-Painting Burial of the Feathers held at Rincon, near Pala in San Diego, California.

Scope and Contents

This collection comprises of a typed manuscript entitled "Lo and Behold" possibly written by John Dominus. It appears to have been written in 1933 and refers to ceremonial dances and religious ceremonies of Luiseños and Cupeño Indians, such as the Shrohobit and Sand-Painting Burial of the Feathers held at Rincon, near Pala in San Diego, California. The manuscript may have been written or edited by Josephine Cook, as an unfinished manuscript was donated with Cook's collection, and the manuscript here mentions many of the people Cook photographed.
