Biography

Sydney Litwack graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1952. He earned a master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1954. His career spanned more than 40 years in the television and motion picture industry as a production designer and art director. Among his film credits are Buck and the Preacher (1972), Doctor's Lives (1971), Places in the Heart (1984), and Just Between Friends (1986). His television credits include Lou Grant, Cannon, Banacek, Rod Serling's Night Gallery. Litwack retired in 1994.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of various drafts of television scripts related to the career of art director Sydney Z. Litwack. The bulk of the scripts are for the television series Lou Grant (1977-78). Additionally there are teleplays, occassional art direction notes, and production information.
