Organizational History
The Group to Alleviate Smoking Pollution (GASP) is a Colorado state nonprofit founded in 1977. GASP of Colorado is a leading
advocate of smoke-free policies, providing resources and assistance in educating the public about the dangers of secondhand
smoke, and the benefits of smoke-free workplaces, multiunit housing, and public spaces.
Scope and Contents
The GASP (Group to Alleviate Smoking Pollution) of Colorado records consist primarily of files that Peter Bialick compiled
during his time as director of the organization. The bulk of the collection is comprised of materials documenting various
smoking ordinances and initiatives in Colorado and other states, as well as nonsmokers' rights actions and advocacy; also
prominent are materials pertaining to the tobacco industry and its propaganda and tactics.

The collection has been arranged in alphabetical filing order.
