Description
This collection documents the activities of the Peninsula Professional Network (PPN), a Monterey Bay area LGBTQ professional, social, and educational organization founded in 1983. The bulk of the collection consists of monthly newsletters containing meeting information and member announcements from 1984-2005. Additional materials include event fliers, financial statements, meeting details, and correspondence.
Background
The Peninsula Professional Network (PPN), also known as The Network, was a Monterey Bay area LGBTQ professional, social, and educational organization founded in 1983. As stated in the organization's original invitational flier, “The Peninsula Professional Network is an invitational association of men and women who live and work in the Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. We define professional as a matter of attitude and seek a way to meet and make friends with people of similar interests in a way which celebrates the best we have to offer as complete and whole human beings.”
