Biography/History
Knowing the passion audiences have for their favorite television programs and personalities, the television industry started
creating posters to effectively market television programming. Popular culture places value on posters not only for their
promotional value but for their aesthetic value as well.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of American television posters representing a variety of programs aired by television networks including
ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS, among others. Included are items for both popular and lesser known television series, movies and specials
aired from ca. 1970s to the 1990s. Some of the posters may have originally been part of television press kits.
Organization and Arrangement
The collection is arranged alphabetically by production titles.
