The General Edwin D. Patrick (built 1944; transport: U.S. Navy) photographs, circa 1963, (SAFR 24664, P16-006) are comprised
of slides of photographs taken aboard the U.S. Navy transport vessel GENERAL EDWIN D. PATRICK while underway. The collection
has been processed to the Collection level and is open for use.
Background
The U.S. Navy transport vessel ADMIRAL C. F. HUGHES was launched in 1944 at the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard
in Alameda, California. She was transferred to the U.S. Army Transport Service and renamed GENERAL EDWIN D. PATRICK in 1946.
In 1950, she was transferred to the Military Sea Transportation Service where she served until 1967.
