Central Valley towns and railroad depots, gold country mining towns of the Sierra Nevada foothills, and rural towns such as
Gilroy, Fellows, and Red Bluff. Several views in San Francisco and Sacramento are present, among numerous other places such
as Oakland and Santa Cruz. Southern California views include Los Angeles, San Gabriel, Santa Barbara, Ontario, Banning, Pasadena

town street views, ferry boats, early automobiles and early twentieth century gas stations. Four views relate to U.S. army
soldiers stationed at Camp Columbus, Santa Cruz County. Three images relate to John Spaulding and his South Yuba Canal Company.
Five images are of, or relate to, Native Americans. A selection of carte-de-visite portraits depcits George Washington, Martha
