Abstract: The Office of Ceremonies and Special Events
collection contains materials related to UC Davis campus ceremonies, dedications, lectures, programs, and receptions. Also
included are meeting minutes for the Committee on Public Ceremonies (1947-1973).

Collections to request collections, as many are stored offsite.

The Office of Ceremonies and Special Events has been formerly known as Campus Services and Ceremonies as well as Visitor
Services and Ceremonies. Circa 1947-1973, there was a Committee on Public Ceremonies which was later renamed the On Campus
Public Programs Advisory Committee.
In 2011, the Office of Ceremonies & Special Events became a unit within the Office of the Chancellor. Prior to this,
the unit had reported to the Vice Chancellor of University Relations.
The collection contains materials related to campus ceremonies, dedications, lectures, programs, and receptions. Also
included are meeting minutes for the Committee on Public Ceremonies.
The collection is arranged in three series: 1. Davis campus events, 2. Events at other campuses, and 3. Memorabilia.
Collection is open for research.
