    Abstract: G. Eric Bradford served as Professor of Animal Science at the University of California, Davis from 1957-1993. His Papers contain records for the sheep flocks at UC Davis and the Hopland Field Station, his publications, travel diaries, and subject files relating to his research on sheep breeding and genetics.

    Biography

    Gordon Eric Bradford was born in Kingsey, Quebec on November 2, 1929. He received a BSc degree in Agriculture (1951) from MacDonald College of McGill University, and an MS (1952) and PhD (1956) in Genetics and Animal Husbandry at the University of Wisconsin.
    Bradford joined the faculty of the Department of Animal Husbandry at UC Davis in 1957. His research focused on sheep breeding and genetics. He helped establish and served as a principal investigator in the International Small Ruminant Collaborative Research Program from 1978 through 1996 and led the initiative that culminated in the 2006 establishment of the UC Davis Agriculture Sustainability Institute. He retired in 1993.
    Eric Bradford paased away on July 29, 2007.
