The collection contains 136 black-and-white vintage photographic prints by William R. Current of architecture in California.
Included are buildings in Pasadena and Los Angeles from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as structures in Northern California,
including well-known building in the San Francisco area. The photographs date from approximately 1960 to approximately 1980.
Background
Willliam R. Current was born 1923 in Pasadena and died in San Francisco in 1986. He studied at Art Center, Los Angeles during
1947-1949. He lived in Carmel, California in the 1960s and became friends with photographers Brett Weston and Wynn Bullock.
An admirer and friend of photographer Ansel Adams, his many exhibitions and publications attest to his fascination with the
landscape and architecture of California and the West.
