Jesse L. Lasky was an American film producer and executive active in film in many capacities from 1913 to 1951. Lasky received an Academy Award nomination for outstanding production for THE WHITE PARADE (1934). His memoirs, "I Blow My Own Horn" (1957), were published shortly before his death.
The Jesse L. Lasky papers span the years 1906-1975 (bulk 1930s-1950s) and encompass 4.2 linear feet. The collection contains a variety of material relating to Lasky's career in film, television, and radio. There is correspondence, scripts, financial records, photograph albums, and miscellaneous writings by Lasky, including the original manuscript for his autobiography which is more personal and contains more family information than the published version. The photograph series consists of three albums of biography photographs.
