    Abstract: The collection comprises microfiche copies of original material from George W. Truett's personal manuscript collection. Truett (1867-1944), Southern Baptist pastor and fund raiser in Texas, was ordained in 1890. He served as financial agent to Baylor University; he later enrolled and was graduated with a B.A. (1897). He pastored East Waco Baptist Church during his student years, and in 1897 became pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, where he remained until his death. He also served as President of the Southern Baptist Convention (1927-1929) and of the Baptist World Alliance (1934-1939).
