Scope and Contents

This series contains interview notes, transcriptions of interviews, notes on the important details from each interview, newspaper and magazine clippings about interview subjects and incidents discussed, and scattered campaign literature for Dan White's Supervisor campaign. Notables among the interview subjects include: Quentin Kopp, Ray Sloan, Tom Norman, Carol Ruth Silver, Scott Smith, Medical Examiner Boyd Stephens, Charles Gain, Sue Bierman, Willie Brown and Joe Freitas.

Series 2 Research Files, 1961-1984

Scope and Contents

This series contains the research materials collected by Weiss to place the murders of Moscone and Milk within the backdrop of San Francisco government, district history, district elections, and the political and personal lives of George Moscone, Harvey Milk and Daniel J. White. Of primary interest are the photocopies of San Francisco Police Department documents including crime reports, coroner's reports, incident reports, radio communications, and interviews.
Original materials include the two trial notebooks kept by Mike Weiss and some original newspapers. There are also photocopies of newspaper and magazine articles and clippings. There is a complete transcript of Dan White's trial in May 1979, including the preliminary hearing in January 1979. The research files also include Dan White's suicide autopsy report from 1985. Weiss attempted to obtain the police report of the suicide, but the Police Department could not find the report and said that they threw them all out.

Scope and Contents

This series contains an interview with Harvey Milk by Aaron Berg, a recording of the police radio communications on the morning of the Milk and Moscone killings and a recording of Dan White's confession to the murders. It also includes a radio interview with Mike Weiss and a DVD recording about the Milk and Moscone assassinations.
