Scope and Contents
This series contains the research materials collected by Weiss to place the murders of Moscone and Milk within the backdrop
of San Francisco government, district history, district elections, and the political and personal lives of George Moscone,
Harvey Milk and Daniel J. White. Of primary interest are the photocopies of San Francisco Police Department documents including
crime reports, coroner's reports, incident reports, radio communications, and interviews.
Original materials include the two trial notebooks kept by Mike Weiss and some original newspapers. There are also photocopies
of newspaper and magazine articles and clippings. There is a complete transcript of Dan White's trial in May 1979, including
the preliminary hearing in January 1979. The research files also include Dan White's suicide autopsy report from 1985. Weiss
attempted to obtain the police report of the suicide, but the Police Department could not find the report and said that they
threw them all out.
