Abstract: The collection comprises microfiche copies of original material from Louis S. Bauman's personal files. Bauman (1875-1950) was born into a German Baptist home in Pennsylvania; his father became a leader in the Progressive Brethren Movement in the 1880s and Bauman followed his example. He was ordained and pastored churches in Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Philadelphia, PA (1900-1908), Long Beach, CA (1913-1945) and Washington, D.C. (1948-1950).

The collection comprises microfiche copies of original material from Louis S. Bauman's personal files, including correspondence with church leaders, items dealing with the church at Long Beach, California where he served his longest pastorate, and material related to his position as Secretary of the Foreign Missionary Board and other agencies with which he was involved.
