Scope and Content of Collection

Letters, photographs, brochures, journals, memoirs, and radio transcripts pertaining to Wineman's work as a photographer. Includes correspondence with the Department of Interior regarding Wineman's photos of Yellowstone and other Western areas. There are copies of letters to Wineman from F. Marion Crawford (1897-1900) and Edward Everett Hale (1902-1907). The radio broadcasts are entitled, "Some Adventures with a Camera in the Great Out-of-doors," and "Memoirs of a Camera" (numbers 1-3, 5-6). Also included are Wineman's writings, "Through Yellowstone National Park into Jackson Hole Country: Narrative to Upper Geyser Basin; Followed by Original Journal..." (illustrated with camera studies); "Seven Nights in the Desert," and "Leaves from the Garden of God." There are also photos by Wineman and portraits of him.
