Biographical / Historical
First Lieutenant Angelus Teague Burch, American Expeditionary Force (11/12/1895 - 11/18/1967) was born to Rousseau and Clara
Burch in Salina, Kansas. Burch served during the First World War in a Field Artillery hospital. He was wounded on the 11th
of November 1918 and remained in the hospital until his recovery and return to the United States. 1LT Burch was married to
Marrie Burch and they had two children, both sons. Burch died at the age of 72 and was buried in Salinas, California.
General
The staples holding the passport photo to the passport have been removed by the Archivist. The passport photo was placed in
a seperate sleeve before the document and after the book. The passport book has been seperated from the passport document
and was placed in a seperate sleeve before the document. A copy of the passport photo was found on Ancestry and added to collectiong
on 13 November 2018

Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence and documents related to 1st Lt. Angelus T. Burch, AEFUSA, during the First World
War. After the war, Burch became a journalist and an editor at the Chicago Daily News. Eight original letters are present,
as well as a passport, a Christmas menu for 1917, a typed transcript of one letter, and a letter by the donor to Andrew Carroll,
including a handwritten transcript of a letter.
