Background
The University of Indonesia Project, which established medical education programs in Airlangaa and Djakarta, Indonesia, was
organized in the 1950s by UCSF's School of Medicine. Francis Scott Smyth served as the initial coordinator of the program,
which graduated its first class in 1959.
