Organizational History
The UCSF Office of Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for collecting private support, fostering communication
among alumni, students, and faculty, and coordinating campus outreach efforts to UCSF donors, alumni and other constituents.
The office provides administrative support to the Alumni Association of UCSF (AAUCSF) and the various support groups of the
Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and the Graduate Division. The office administers the UCSF Foundation,
the giving, receiving and investing arm of the University of California, San Francisco.
Scope and Contents
Collection contains material from the UCSF Office of Development and Alumni Relations, including material related to alumni
associations that support the UCSF Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and the Graduate Division. Photographs
constitute a large portion of the collection. Additional material includes administrative records, publications, event invitations,
audiovisual recordings, and scrapbooks. Much of the material relates to the alumni activities of the School of Medicine, including
class files with student rosters and biographical information, reunion material and class photographs, and correspondence.
Material dates from 1864-2014 (bulk 1950-2014).

The collection is arranged in six series: Series I, Administrative records and biography files 1969-2011; Series II, Printed
material and ephemera 1900-2010; Series III, School of Medicine class files, 1864-2013; Series IV, School of Dentistry scrapbooks
1958-1969; Series V, Photographs 1876-2014; Series VI, Audiovisual recordings and digital media 1999-2011.
