This collection contains 2 x 2 in. color slides of various land-use maps dating from the late 1920s to the 1960s for areas in Los Angeles County, California, that were created and used by the Los Angeles Regional Planning Commission. The slides depict paper maps that were photographed by the Commission in segments (identified as "detail" slides), and as a whole (identified as an "index" slide). The maps are colored to reflect different classifications of land uses such as open land, farming, residence, commerce, industry, utility, institution, and recreation.
