Description
Correspondence with J.I.M. Stewart, receipts for books, dust jackets, and manuscripts of novels and short stories.
Background
John Innes Mackintosh Stewart (1906-1994) was a Scottish writer and academic. He taught English at the University of Leeds; the University of Adelaide, South Australia; Queen's University, Belfast; and Oxford University. Stewart wrote both literary criticism and novels under his own name and mystery novels under the name Michael Innes.
