Abstract: Leonard L. Born was the owner of a Northern California company, Born and Company, which specialized in the irradiation of
foods, cold sterilization, and algae production. The collection contains
reports, pamphlets, and clippings relating to experiments in the irradiation of strawberries, potatoes, and poultry. Other
materials deal with experiments with algae production as a potential cattle protein source.
