Abstract: This collection consists primarily of video recordings on DVD of band performances between 1986 and 2000. The video recordings
were produced by Larry Dean, the donor of this collection. Some of the recordings are accompanied by printed materials such
as play lists and programs.

Biography/Administrative History
The Chaffey Community Show Band, also called Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band, is a local band of adult performers under
the direction of R. Jack Mercer, longtime band director of Chaffey High School’s Chaffey Tiger Band. The show band was formed
in 1985 by Chaffey High School alumni and Mr. Mercer. The show band continues to perform publicly at the R. Jack Mercer Community
Band Stand located on the Euclid Avenue median between C and D Streets.
Scope and Content of Collection
The Chaffey Community Show Band Collection consists primarily of video recordings of band performances from 1986 to 2000,
professionally recorded by the donor. The recordings are available on DVD and may be viewed on site in the Model Colony History
Room.
