    Note

    Reported to be part of a Mexican Missal of 1620. There were originally 216 leaves which were bound in pigskin. Binding was burned off and the pages were scorched in a fire that destroyed the Santa Rosa Convent in 1670.

    Scope and Contents

    Sixty-five pages of parchment manuscript book of Catholic church liturgy used in a California mission. It is partly burned. Rescued and preserved by Charles Fletcher Lummis. Four pages are enclosed in glass frames. This collection also includes a page of missal from a convent.
