Administrative records, photographs, staff manuals, information packets, clippings, brochures, and other papers, 2001-2002, from the Rainbow Floor at the University of Southern California. The USC Rainbow Floor was established in circa 2001 as a residential community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their allies at USC.
Background
The Rainbow Floor was established in circa 2001 as a residential community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their allies at the University of Southern California. The Rainbow Floor was established to "Empower gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered students, and their allies, to lead full and rewarding lives by providing a safe floor in which to live, learn, and grow." The Rainbow Floor collaborates with other university departments to organize campus-wide and community events that highlight LGBT movements and issues.
