The Sacramento Hepatitis B Project was initiated in 1982 to "stop and prevent the spread of Hepatitis B" by screening those at high risk for the disease (such as gay men), and immunizing those without anti-bodies to fight it.

    Historical Note

    The Sacramento Hepatitis B Project was initiated in 1982 in Sacramento, California, in order to "stop and prevent the spread of Hepatitis B" by screening those at high risk for the disease (such as gay men), and immunizing those without anti-bodies to fight it. The project further sought to "educate and coordinate services to high risk groups." Dr. Kenneth Brock, a clinical social worker, served as coordinator of the project.

The Sacramento Hepatitis B Project was initiated in 1982 to "stop and prevent the spread of Hepatitis B" by screening those at high risk for the disease (such as gay men), and immunizing those without anti-bodies to fight it. Much of the correspondence and other material is associated with Dr. Kenneth Brock, a clinical social worker who served as project coordinator.
