Biography

Louis Blankenhorn was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, on May 26, 1847. When he moved to Chicago, Illinois as a young man, he became connected with the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad as assistant freight agent. In 1881 he married Lillian Stevens in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The couple had four children: George Stevens, Louis 'Mac' McLaughlin, David Fergusen, and Barbara. In 1883 he moved to California, and here was engaged in stock and bond business and had an active part in a number of civic organizations. He moved to Pasadena, California to retire in 1914. He passed away on November 16, 1922 in Pasadena, California.
