Contains photographs of the Pacific Far East Line vessel KOREAN BEAR (built 1955; cargo ship), the Oceanic Steamship Company
vessel MARIPOSA (built 1931; passenger vessel), and the Dollar Steamship Line vessel PRESIDENT COOLIDGE (built 1931; passenger
vessel), all in unidentified locations, 1931-1940, 1955-1963. There are 4 unique photographic images (black-and-white photographic
prints).
- Item 1. KOREAN BEAR (built 1955; cargo ship) moored, close-up view off the port bow, 1955-1963. (1) black-and-white photographic print, 15.75 x 19.5 in.
- Item 2. MARIPOSA (built 1931; passenger vessel) underway in heavy seas, port broadside view, 1931-1940. "S.S. Mariposa. Probably MALOLO" is handwritten on the bottom of the print, but the image appears to more closely resemble MARIPOSA. (1) black-and-white photographic print, 5 x 7 in.
- Item 3. PRESIDENT COOLIDGE (built 1931; passenger vessel) docked, view off the port bow, 1931-1938. The bow is damaged. (The damage was possibly a result of the collision with the tanker FRANK H. BUCK on March 6, 1937, but this could not be confirmed.) (1) black-and-white photographic print, 3.75 x 4.75 in.
- Item 4. PRESIDENT COOLIDGE (built 1931; passenger vessel) docked, detail view of the port bow, 1931-1938. The bow is damaged. (The damage was possibly a result of the collision with the tanker FRANK H. BUCK on March 6, 1937, but this could not be confirmed.) (1) black-and-white photographic print, 3.75 x 4.75 in.
