Title:
Mary Drenke, a Barbary Coast dancehall worker and pickpocket. Sent to County Jail in 1874 for petty larceny. What was known
as the Barbary Coast in the early days was the district from Stockton to Sansome Streets on Broadway, Pacific and Jackson
Streets. Later it was confined to Pacific Street from Stockton to Sansome Streets.
