The Senator Sharon & his son in law Mr. Newland's plot in Calvary Cemetery. Sharon with Wm. C. Ralston built the 1st Palace Hotel in 1872. He was a United States Senator and his home was on the south side of Sutter St. bet. Mason & Powell Sts.
