2 lapse of years. I feel sure that the same ged friend ship is safe and sound and that I may safely call on you? Now that
I happen to need you. You do not knew that my brother Co. Memill has met with disappointment and reverses and his losses
have involved me somewhat. After due consideration with friends and relatives it seem to be best that my Janet - you will
recall her - and my brother's daughter Mary should go to California to teach. We have not certainly decided? but want to get
all the information we can in regard to either city or country schools. The girls are well prepared for teaching 01246
3 having both had good educations. Janet a classical one. She is not very strong howev4re it has not seemed necessary heretofore
that she should teach - except occasionally a few private pupils in French or some fo the simpler studies. She is never very
strong in this climate - but the sea air always braces her up - and I feel sure the climate of California will be good for
her. You may remember her as a sweet little girl of ten or twelve she Katy Graydon were always together. She is still sweet
and good a true sensible little woman. I shall miss her as will her brothers but will try to do without her. Should it seem
best. The girls want to start early in December
