[illegible]started in [illegible] with Daniel P[illegible] in [well] [before] the [Regt] reported to Leuit. Wells. All quiet along the lines. Rainy in the evening. Visted by the Dr. and [the?] Chaplain. [Very] interesting meeting we [illegible] held and [many] [continued]. Rainy and very unpleasant spent the day in trying to get [dormed] in my new quarters. In the Even-ing received a letter from O.M.F of Rochester also one from Cousin [Underdown]. In the Evening attended Divine Worship in our beautiful chapel. Twas largely attended by offi-cers and men. All quiet on the Rapidan. ------------------------------ April 1, Friday. [Half of the entry is covered by a glued in sheet with a poem on the month of April] ...started in conferring with Daniel Pia, am ready for the Regt, reported to Lieut.Wells. All quiet along the lines, rainy in the evening. Visited the Dr. and the Chaplain, very interesting meetings are being held and many converted. [1.] April 2, Saturday. Rainy and very unpleasant, spent the day in trying to get domiciled in my new quarters, in the evening received a letter from OMF of Rochester, also one from cousin Underdown, in the evening attended divine worship in our beautiful chapel, twas largely attended by officers and men. All quiet on the Rapidan. Note: 1. Travis A. Wells, 1st Lt. Co.A, 108th NY, was wounded in the Wilderness and discharged to date from May 6, 1864. Daniel Pia, probably from Co.
