Lieut. Shields is feeling very bad today, all quiet in the [illegible] except [illegible] shifting [illegible] the pills we
gave them as they gave them a very spiteful disposition, this afternoon visited the Corps Hospital arrived and [illegible]
the mail. No letter for me, Col. Pierce cannot be [illegible] the 7th Va. [illegible] went home today on a 30 day leave of
absence, they have reinlisted.
[illegible] all quiet on the Republic in the evening received letter from [illegible] also wrote home.
