Another pleasant day, feel very well. Dr. Munson re-turned from Washington today. In the evening we received orders to be
ready to move at 7 in the morning. My direction not known but we expect a demonstration is to be made in the [Evening?]. Tomorrow

Early this morning the [Brigade?] started and joined the Div. march-ing in the direction of Morton's Ford which they crossed
at 9 in the morn-ing. Severe skirmishing all the day. Was left in the [camp?] to take care of the Ladies. Towards Evening
the wounded were [illegible] in. Among them Lt Col. Pierce, Col. Lackwood, Col. [Savage?] and Lieut. Shields of the Div. Staff.
All severly wounded and also several of the Men of our Regt. This has been a disastrous day to us. Loss in all about 250 kill-ed
wounded and [weary?]. The Regt. returned about 8 this Evening but had to go back to the [River?] again by 12. Raining very
