A very wet disagreeable day in the forenoon wrote a letter to Judie. The President has ordered that the 100 guns be fired
in honor of our late Victories by Gen. Sherman and his noble army of the time the heavy [illegible] from the Common and seems
beaming with life. The prospect [illegible] brightly; may heaven soon bring the [illegible] wishes for day of Peace.
No news from home. But good news from the great Armies in the field every thing looks so encouraging the end is not yet but
soon will be. late this Evening recieved a letter from Judie annoucing the indictment of my Cousin Johnathan for one year.
answered the some immediately but could not send till the coming morning.
