Very fine day wrote to my mother, to Judith and to my friend Mr. J Moon of R. Good news from Sherman's noble band of Patriots. Fine morning, wrote to Prof. Northup no letters received today feel midling well. In the evening attended meeting of Union Div. S of 7. My position as Conductor quite embarrasing. Initiated 9 candidates and proceeded to the Business. ---------------------------------- September 4, Sunday. Very fine day, wrote to Mother , to Judith and to my friend Mr. J. Moon of R. Good news from Sherman’s noble band of patriots. September 5, Monday. Fine morning, wrote Prof. Northrup, no letter received today. Feel middling well. In the evening attended meeting of Union Div. S of T, my position as Conductor quite embarrassing, initiated 9 candidates and proceeded to the business.
