Received letter from Judith acknowledging receipt of the album. Visited the Lincoln Hospital and found there a friend Elias [Millian] of the 10th NY Vols Co E. He has been very sick with Typhoid Fever but is recovering. [blank] -------------------------------- August 19, Friday. Received letter from Judith acknowledging receipt of albums. Visited the Lincoln Hospital and found there a friend Elias Williams of the 109th NY Vols, Co. E. He has been very sick with typhus fever but is recovering. [3.] Note: 3. Elias S. Williams, 109th NY, age 22, mustered in as pvt in 1863, Co. G, transferred to 51st NY. Lincoln General Hospital opened in Dec. 1862 and closed in July 1865 and was at the intersection of East Capitol St and East 12th St. Crooks, Terence G. “Transcribed and Annotated Diaries of Henry Oliver Nightingale.” Unpublished manuscript, 2014.
