1 letterhead Grand Canyon, June 7 1904 Dear Mama I wish that you could have been with us this morning, as well sheltered
from the wind and rain we lay under a large overhanging rock on the very rim of the Canyon and watched a thunder storm roar
and flash. The Canyon is the most tremendous and astonishing place I have ever seen and to see it in a storm was unusual and
glorious. It makes me feel week and helpless just to think of describing it so I won't try, you have to see it to have the
least idea of what it is like and there isn't the least reason why you shouldn't see it for the rail road runs to the very
rim. We are all very well and a very jolly party 08549
