1849 aboard the bark Clarissa, sailed around Cape Horn and arrived in San Francisco in October of that year. Robins was referred
to as a capitalist and a letter apparently written by him to Benjamin S. Hill in 1850 discusses the state of money market
in San Francisco at the time.
