BUILDING San Francisco, Cal. San Francisco, Sept. 2, 1913. Darling Helen;- I have just returned from two and a half
weeks trip to Mrs. Harriman's camp in Idaho, near the Yellowstone Park. I was very tired and run down, but I am feeling first
rate now. The main thing is to find by your letter of August 18th that you have won your way through that dreadful hot spell
without you or your babies being hurt in the least. This is delightful. We are still very busy about this confounded Hetch-Hetchy
fight, but it begins to look as though we would be able to stave the matter off until the next regular session of Congress
in December, which will give us plenty of time to defeat the Raker Bill. They are all well at Wanda's. The children are growing
nicely and Wanda seems in good spirits and so does Tom, although he was rather disappointed about a small crop of pears.
When this fight is over, I will try and come down to see you. If there is anything that you would like me to send to you,
just let me know and I will take great pleasure in ordering it for you. Ever your devoted Father,
