Martinez May 9, 1914 Dear Mrs Parsons: I'm very sorry to have to believe that Mr Parsons' illness is so serious as your
letter shows. Nevertheless I shall not cease to hope that the general stock of health gained on the mountains will carry him
through all his heart and throat troubles to sound triumphant health. Tom will take the typewriter to its owners, the delay
will not count for much; for after the M.S. is all arranged ready for copying the speed will be the greater. With affectionate
sympathy I am ever faithfully your friend John Muir
