Calif. Dear Sir:- At the stated meeting of the Council of the Academy held October 20, 1902, the following resolution was
adopted:- That the paper of Dr. Marsden Manson, entitled The Evolution of Climate, be referred to a committee consisting
of Prof. E.W. Hilgard, Mr. John Muir, and Mr. C. G. Abbot, of the Smithsonian Institution, for its opinion as to said paper's
scientific accuracy and value. If you can find the time to examine the paper, it will be forwarded to you. Very respectfully,
