Berkeley. Feb. 11. Dear Papa and Mama and Helen Yesterday we all had a fine walk up to Grizzly Peak. We had intended to
go to S but most of the girls wanted to go up on the hills so we went there instead. I had heard so much about its being a
terribly hard walk that I expected something tremendous but only found a very easy, pleasant walk the teachers and all but
five of the girls were very tired and said they could go no farther by the time we were about half way up. Miss Head said
that if I would promise to take care of the others and see that they did not get hurt, we could go on to the top. We did and
that was the best part of the walk. The hills here are bare and not nearly as pretty as the ones at home but there is a beautiful
view from the top and there are a great many flowers. I did not find anything different from what we have except wild currant
bushes, with pretty pink blossoms. 09183
