letterhead September 10, 1909 Mr. John Muir, My dear Mr. Muir:- When I called upon you last June I had no thought
of the sacrilege of writing you up, but after I come away it seemed too bad not to make a note of my most delightful call
and its impressions. Before sending it away for publication I want to get, - not your blessing upon it, for I fear that might
not be granted - but lake? sure that I am not illegible you or your kindness in any way. If after looking the ms. over you
will return it in the enclosed envelope I shall take it as as an indication that you do not absolutely reprobate the article.
Thanking you again for the pleasure I received from my call I am, my dear Sir, Most sincerely yours, John W. Buckham
