over 100 miles of the Columbia River; the flora surpassed anything I have ever seen; and, as Mr.Haines is an entusiast on
this spot, he requested me to urge you to call on him the first time you were in Portland, so that he might have the pleasure
of taking you in person to this charming spot. I fear to enclose the photograph of the baby tree in this letter as it may
be broken but I will try to get a mailing envelope for it and send it to you before 02328 4 letterhead I leave. Let
me know to Morristown if it reaches you in good condition. and now I must for myself and children say adieu but with the earnest
